Founded by Stacey Del Valle, Studio 517 is mid-Michigan’s newest competitive and recreational dance studio.
Offering a wide variety of classes with highly experienced instructors, there are classes available for all dancers, from age 2.5 to adulthood. We offer programs for the serious competitive dancer, as well as the dancers who just want to take a class or two for fun!
Our competitive company trains in ballet, jazz technique, turns and conditioning and competes a variety of styles at regional and national dance competitions.
Recreational classes are offered in all styles of dance! All recreational dancers perform in our end of the year recital.
For former dancers or dancers who are new to class – adult classes are available in a variety of styles!
My passion is to educate and empower dancers to grow as athletes and individuals through the best available training practices and an uplifting environment.
As a certified athletic trainer with a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology, my thesis research focused on injury prevention in youth ballet dancers. I am passionate about combining the worlds of sports medicine and dance to create a unique, challenging and safe training environment for all of my students.
Studio 517 was created to allow me to bring my knowledge and talent to the Lansing dance community, and to provide opportunities to mentor other dance instructors along the way.
Classes are available for all levels and ranges of commitment; from the recreational student to the serious pre-professional dancer, in a wide variety of dance styles.
Our priority is using safe, effective training methods and spotting techniques with focus on fundamental skill progressions to develop a solid technical foundation.
All classes are taught using the most evidence-based curriculums available and are tailored to the learning styles of each student.
Routines are choreographed to the strengths of each class, so that all dances showcase the best qualities of every age, style and ability. Routines showcase age-appropriate choreography and costumes to highlight dancers at each level.
Our training facility will feature sprung-wood dance floors, industrial height ceilings, large dance rooms and a homework lounge to provide the perfect space for dancers to learn and grow.
We promote a positive learning environment with supportive teachers who truly care about the growth and success of each dancer who walks in our doors.
